As I’m sure you’ve seen on our social media over the past week, we have recently been awarded Caterer of the Year at the Select Lincolnshire Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards 2018! We are honoured to have received such great recognition for the hard work we have put in over the past four years and will be finding a special place for our award to live!

Not only this! We were also runner up for Business of the Year!

The judges praised our use of local produce and efforts to build strong working relationships with suppliers in the County. The bespoke catering service we offer clients is second to none and the panel were impressed with the great feedback we have received from a variety of events. Assessed on customer service, staff knowledge, quality of product selection, sustainability and marketing and promotion, we really had to paint a picture of how Salted Orange operates on a daily basis and what is important to us. As explained in our last blog post here, we source a multitude of high quality products from Lincolnshire suppliers to create amazing dishes. We are also constantly striving to become a more sustainable, reduce waste and find new unique ideas for events.

The evening was a great success and provided an opportunity to network with other businesses in the industry (and enjoy an evening out without the kids!). We also think it is important to reward those who work hard for us, so we brought our whole core team along to celebrate!

The extensive 6-course menu at the Minster School from Head Chef Rob Smith, was themed around RAF100, which is of special significance in Lincolnshire. From corned beef to coffee stout, the dishes sure were interesting! With each course, the tension built to find out who would be this year’s winners, and we couldn’t be happier with our win.

This year is set to be busier than ever but we will be frequently attending Select Lincolnshire events and are already looking forward to the 2019 Awards!
