2019 has been an awesome year for Salted Orange and we are proud to be bigger and better than ever! I have spoken to the whole team to find out what they enjoyed and what they are most looking forward to in the year to come.

2019 is my first year at Salted Orange and I couldn’t be happier to say it’s going great! The team are great fun and their high level of teamwork is so important. I can’t wait to tell you why I’m so proud of the work we have done this year…
I feel like our social media presence has grown massively and we love to engage with our clients and followers. Working with such a customer-focused company feels great because we know we are always doing the best we can for our guests. Additionally, from a business perspective, Salted Orange has gone from strength to strength during my employment and has grown quickly in terms of assets and new staff members. This year has seen the arrival of Julie, Lucasz and Ollie! We have also been able to adapt as always to client ideas, rural locations and catering trends. We love a challenge!
The biggest achievement I would say is already having over 60 weddings booked for 2020 and catering over 50 amazing weddings this year! We’ve had some amazing reviews sent in and we always love to hear from Brides & Grooms after the big day.
My personal highlight was helping us to win Caterer of the Year at the Select Lincolnshire Awards again and winning Best Bespoke Outdoor Catering Company (Midlands) has also been amazing. We are flattered to be this year’s runner up for Caterer of the Year at The Wedding Industry Awards and Sam with Chef of the Year at the Taste Awards.
In 2020 I am looking forward to the further expansion of the team, more awards and growing our rum distillery to become a national brand!
This was my first full year as an Event Coordinator for Salted Orange, meaning I could personally meet the majority of our Brides and Grooms, giving me a lot more of a personal connection to each one of them on their special day. Looking after all of the Salted Orange clients has been both challenging and rewarding but I would not change it for the world.
This year has seen a lot of changes within Salted Orange, most notably the new faces; Kiera, Julie, Lukasz and the newest team member, Ollie. Working together in the past couple of months to provide the best experience for Bride and Grooms has been an absolute pleasure. Having a team that supports each other and makes life easier for one another is what every business needs. 2019 has been great but 2020 will be even better!
I’ve really enjoyed stepping up and becoming a leader and the top three events for me have been the Tagg wedding in July, Carrie-Ann and David’s wedding and the Water if Life Conference held at Chapter House (especially the Polynesian singing and dancing).
From day 1 I felt like part of the team. I like that the events are always unique and it’s great that the menu and service is bespoke for each client. The venues I have been to have been stunning and we are so grateful to have nurtured great relationships with their owners.
I am still learning about the planning and organising of each event but I can always rely on Pawel and Sam to support me in making sure that we have everything we need for the guests have a brilliant and stress-free experience that they will remember. I find it very rewarding at the end of the day when we get great feedback and seeing a happy Bride and Groom is priceless.
It is great that we can all develop new skills and to be part of a diverse and growing team who care about providing a great service and delivering fantastic food. I have never driven a van before this job and now I am confident in my abilities after slowly progressing from the little van to the Sprinter!
My time so far at Salted Orange has been a great experience. Every day is varied and being able to work with such friendly and welcoming people really does help you settle into a new job. Being able to provide great experiences for Brides & Grooms and getting great feedback has a huge feel good factor. My favourite experiences so far have to being serving part of the RAF inside a hanger with the Red Arrows and the Sportsman dinner at Boston United with Mark Lawrenson. My short time here in 2019 has shown me that we have a great team who can gain great results and we are going to smash 2020!
