When and where

Date: 22nd September 2018

Location: Peak Cavern, Peak District AKA The Devil’s Arse.

What was needed? A 30th anniversary with a difference. A big difference.

The event

The most lovely Mr and Mrs Blagden came to us looking to create an event with a difference. Wanting to celebrate in style but with a different idea they had hired out Peak Cavern (www.peakcavern.co.uk). This unique venue is a must visit when visiting the area.

The couple chose street food along with numerous drinks, hog roasts and other such fancies designed to utilise the space.

The team dressed in custom hoodies with the devil on their back, graciously donated by the clients. One such hoodie Pawel still wears to this day, we saw him in it for a meeting at work a couple of days ago.

The set-up

In a normal setting for 200 guests this would be a challenge. The fact that it was in a cave with uneven flooring (by which I mean non), and no access for our vans to get our bars, equipment, tables and staff up to the top made it more challenging. If it hadn’t been for John and his 4×4, it could have been a very difficult set-up. His skills for driving up and down backwards were a sight to behold.

The team ‘huffed’ it early in the morning and then continued throughout the day, setting up, exploring and ensuring the event went off without a hitch.

The food

In total over 200 portions of street food, 1 x 100kg pig and mountains of miniature desserts were consumed that evening. At the clients behest we were instructed to join in the party, which some of the waiting staff did dancing with some of the guests.

Little touches, such as the miniature Prosecco bottles and a straw, added to the quirkiness of the event.

Then finally after it was all said and done, the fun came with braking the event down.
